Results Are Estimates Based on Published Conventions
The tools apply the standard international Morse code table, the NATO phonetic alphabet, a simplified callsign-prefix reference, and widely published amateur-radio band plans, and round their output for readability. A displayed value may differ from your country’s current rules, so always work from your national radio authority’s current allocations when it matters.
Why a Result May Look Off
A calculator can return a surprising or blank answer when:
- Speeds are mismatched: an effective (Farnsworth) speed entered higher than the character speed has no valid timing solution.
- A callsign doesn’t match the standard pattern: non-standard or special-event callsigns may not parse under a simplified format check.
- A frequency falls outside amateur allocations: the band chart only covers amateur radio bands, not broadcast, marine, aviation, or citizens-band frequencies.
- Regional rules differ: band edges and privileges vary between ITU regions and countries.
