A New Era of Computing Capacity and Sustainability in Saudi Arabia
The strategic collaboration between XDS Datacentres and ICS Arabia marks a significant milestone in the development of Saudi Arabia’s digital landscape. The partnership aims to bring advanced computing capacity, sustainability, and scalability to support the kingdom’s digital transformation. Through this collaboration, XDS Datacentres, a pioneer in liquid immersion digital infrastructure, and ICS Arabia, a leading engineering and technology company, will deliver initial 10-megawatt immersion-cooled data centres in Riyadh and Jeddah. The facilities will be designed and operated in accordance with ICS Arabia’s Desert Dragon technology ecosystem, which focuses on Tier III and Tier IV data centres.
- The project will utilize immersion-cooling technology to support high-density workloads such as AI, machine learning, blockchain, and other GPU-intensive applications.
- The facilities will feature full immersion cooling with rack densities up to 368 kilowatts, making them ideal for services such as AI, GPU-as-a-Service (GPUaaS), cloud-native compute, and hyperscale edge deployments.
- The design includes redundant N+N power and cooling systems; Tier III certification; and high-capacity network interconnectivity.
Benefits of the Partnership
The partnership between XDS Datacentres and ICS Arabia will bring numerous benefits to clients in Saudi Arabia. These benefits include:
- 99.982% uptime guarantees;
- Fully managed colocation services and smart hands;
- Flexible power allocations;
- GPUaaS;
- Private cloud;
- Server conversion;
- Customer rack migration and engineering support;
- Infrastructure as a service (IaaS);
- Software as a service (SaaS);
Expanding into Saudi Arabia
The expansion into Saudi Arabia follows the successful announcement of XDS’s immersion-cooled facility in Dubai. This new market represents a key growth opportunity for XDS, and the initial 10MW facility will showcase the potential of immersion-cooled infrastructure to deliver both performance and sustainability. The XDS data centre will support national cloud initiatives, artificial intelligence growth, and enterprise workloads that require scalable, low-latency compute infrastructure. This expansion into Saudi Arabia will further solidify XDS’s position as a leading player in the data centre market.
